Pros

Great work life balance, Great team depending on the department. Easy to schedule time off, Fully-remote work. Top management appears to be taking surveys seriously and trying to correct issues. Among healthcare companies, better than most. Among all companies, I'm not too impressed.

Cons

-Outdated legacy systems and software, This is a problem at every company and Zelis is not the worst offender, but Zelis is behind on their tech stack for certain departments. I give them a 5 / 10 for being up to date, with 10/10 being completely up to date. I've seen some software systems at Zelis that I'm very impressed by and others that I'm abhorred by. I personally have worked on projects that took many hours of manual work, that could've been solved by upgrading our system or being able to use a highly reputable software that is either open source or nearly free. We do not need to be on the bleeding edge of technology, but staying relevant with technology in the last few years is important. It's not a priority, but it should be. -We're required to log our hours for client work. I prefer we log our hours for everything instead because everything in a company culture makes up the quality of our work and how profitable we ultimately will be. Client work is important, but I feel like we're not taking a holistic look. What about time spent on R and D? What about daily fire issues, time spent updating a system to be more efficient, or refactoring code to reduce tech debt? What about trainining sessions to get a new employee up to speed and adjusted to a new team? If they feel adjusted and appropriately challenged, they will be less likely to leave. -Communication issues between departments is a problem. Many projects and their related details come up at the last minute because of the lack of communication. -Insufficient raises that match inflation, causing employees to continue to job hop.

Pros

I 've been with Zelis for more than 3 years, and it's been a great place to build a career. One of the biggest benefits is the flexibility. Working remotely has allowed me to maintain a healthy work-life balance, which is incredibly important because my family is my top priority. I've always felt trusted to manage my work while still being present for the moments that matter most outside of work. The company has created an environment where employees are empowered to do their jobs without unnecessary micromanagement. Leadership encourages collaboration, and I've had opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute in meaningful ways. The culture is supportive, and I've enjoyed working alongside talented colleagues who genuinely care about helping each other succeed.

Cons

Like any growing organization, there are times when processes and priorities change, which can take some adjustment. Clear communication during periods of change is always appreciated, but overall, these have been manageable and haven't taken away from my positive experience.

Pros

PTO Some Co-Workers if you’re lucky

Cons

They move too fast. They are so interested in a profit that they will choose quantity over quality in releasing products & services to clients. They are terrible about having processes in place and support or training. It is very much a “wing it” type of environment in a way. Work life balance was good until they started making people come into the office if you’re within a 50 mile radius of one of their corporate offices even if you initially were hired to work remote and even if nobody from your department or team even works at that said office. You ultimately will leave home working remotely to drive up to 50 miles to go into an office to work remotely. I thought pay was good until I started seeing what other companies were paying for the same type of work.
