Pros
Was there through IPO and it provided an immense opportunity to gain experience within a market-leading, extremely aligned GTM motion across Marketing, Sales, Customer, and Product teams. The founder/CEO, C-Suite and Leadership seemed to have a great read on the market, product suite's potential, customers' needs, and where to lead the company. Worked with many of the smartest people I've ever worked with here.
Cons
Overall compensation was well below the local market, and the office/culture perks were minimal. Many times I would have to wait a full year for a promotion due to the annual cycle. Benefits got more and more competitive each year, as did their DE&I support across the org, but still lots left on the table when looking at leadership and senior management to comparable SaaS companies. Attrition was at times atrocious, and leadership was aware of this but post-IPO, their efforts to change this were not effective as the numbers were consistently high. Professional development was non-existent if you had a non-SDR, BDR or CSM type starter role. Consistently struggled to find opportunities, minimal budget, or time to grow in directly job-applicable skills. While company growth was exciting and rapid, there was a lot of misalignment across Leadership levels between C-Suite, Dept heads and Senior Managers, further impacted by rolling re-orgs/consolidations from departures or new hires.
