Pros
I would recommend anyone to join the maintenance dpt for a number of reasons. •First being an abundance of overtime to help top up your already respectable wage up. •Second being it’s actually quite a clean place to work, workshop is tidy well equipped and there’s been a lot of work done on the shop floor to raise cleanliness standards. Depending on background/perspective I’d say it’s a very nice place to work. •Third being the support and opportunity for developing yourself. I’ve worked in a number of companies and this is the first who’ve actually followed through with their promises. Which leads me nicely to my third, and most contentious reason. •The head maintenance manager for all of Europe. I can only speak for myself and my personal experience. Which has been blinding to be honest. Always happy to answer the phone for a breakdown regardless of day or time, actively pushing for extra training and development. Bit of a temper sometimes but that is a byproduct of caring too much.
Cons
Work load seems to be increasing month by month and the feeling of time and motion being implemented is ever present. There’s the odd bit of petty politics which is par for the course in any industry.
