Pros

There are no pros to working at this job.

Cons

I worked for Zwicker & Associates Lawrenceville, GA location for 3 weeks. First, there is no training. You sit with someone for a week while she speeds from screen to screen and expects for you to be taking notes on everything she does. As soon as they give you your own computer they expect you to know how to do everything with no mistakes. When you try and ask a question they ask you to remember what they showed you, to figure it out or to go look it up. When you first get there your job will be one thing. However, they will consistently add new responsibilities to your job description and while you were first assigned complaints and consent judgments, after a few weeks you will be responsible for complaints, consent judgments, conformed copies, updating the system for service, the 519 report, the provest report, provest spreadsheet, void spreadsheet, voids, IDL additional cost requests, box breakers with the post office, daily suit label spreadsheet, the 519 exception report, the 529 report, 559 report and anything else they decide to assign you. The pay is awful and you have to wait a year before you get a review, where you are not guaranteed a raise. They do not offer any paid days off, you start with no vacation and have to earn your time at 1.70 hours a week. You will have to work the day before and the day after Thanksgiving and the day before and the day after Christmas. You will be micromanaged like crazy with your supervisor picking apart every email you send, every file you work on and every note you leave on the system just looking for something you did wrong. They will expect you to look things up on the internet that you don't even have access to because they did not do their job and get you access to the Y drive, T drive and the intranet. This job was constant anxiety and stress every day because of how critical the management is on you, regardless of whether or not you are a new employee. I even had instances where management told me to do something and gave me an example of how they wanted it done, and when I repeated it their way, they told me it was wrong and they never told me to do it that way. I am not an idiot, I am actually an attorney. I took that job as a Litigation Assistant because I thought I would be getting experience in bankruptcies. No bankruptcy work was ever mentioned and it appeared that I was doing all the work the office manager use to do, while she did nothing. They will have you sit with a bunch of different people who will all have you do things a different way. They will constantly take you away from one task and tell you that you have all these deadlines to meet that they don't give you time to actually meet. And again, they will blame you for not knowing things they never even told you or for doing things wrong when you haven't been properly trained. If you take this job, expect to be harassed on a daily basis by things as small as how you put labels on folders. After 3 weeks I decided I did not need the constant stress of working at this job for the money I was being paid. And I brought my concerns to managements attention before I left and nothing was done about it.

Pros

A lot of hearings, but not the kind you get meaningful experience from

Cons

Horrible (mis)management. No mentorship. Senior level attorneys don't know how to practice law, just use the software system. It's a debt collection business that has a few attorneys bolted onto the side.
