Pros
-Great flexibility and work/life balance -Lots of opportunities for professional development -Working on a thought out and stable product that most other EMRs can't match in quality and support -I was surprised by the amount of diversity among my peers
Cons
-If you don't mesh well with your manager they will leave you high and dry in any sort of disagreement or conflict with your peers -No annual inflation pay adjustment. If you don't score highly enough on their subjective review metrics you could go a whole year or more with no pay increase -Lots of middle managers that see any sort of ambition as directly threatening to their security and will actively put you in positions to fail -I was unsurprised by the severe lack of diversity among team leads and managers
