Pros

Hmm let me first make it clear that I am not going to write something just for the sake of points over here… If you are looking for the initial momentum in your career, a great deal of exposure and good people to work with, then yes embedUR is a great place to work. I see people with less experience than 3 years complain about the company and its way of working, so come on people look out, this company do give you a great deal of freedom, to an extent. And you have not seen anything out there to frown up the company’s method. When I joined, my very first project taught me so many things and I was put into fire ( a great team) and was expected results. So the company doesn’t have a proper training structure and all for new guys who join in, even they don’t have a proper big time goal to stick up teams (but as a service provider this is how the industry works), Client determines a great deal on how the company works. Since this is a small company, you get to define how you want to approach and you will be held responsible for your choices. With increments, this will be one of the very few companies you will see which pays good. But as a rule of thumb they say, if you perform well your work will be acknowledged (but this is what they say). Unlike other companies, the seniors here are not what you expect them, they really get close both professionally and personally. Believe me when I say close, it will be great to work with, I felt I was at home and the last few working days were so hard to let go of the people. Team leads and seniors do stand up to you when you are stuck at any point (you will not be judged). And it ‘WAS’ a great environment to work around. To sum it up: 1) Great people around you to work with. 2) Really good exposure. 3) Really steep learning curve 4) Best place to start with for your career. 5) Good pay 6) Seniors and People above you don’t try to steal your work, if you do something great the people above you will be the first to fell excited for. (this might sound as a stupid point, but this counts in)

Cons

I know this standard dialogue; every company will have its cons it’s up to you on how you take it. Yeah, right. I too know this, and I am a person who always go with this approach, but the points I am going to talk about are not such points, these are really the ones where as a company they are losing it. First thing, I always felt – ‘it was a great time’ during my last few months I worked in embedUR, few things changed and it might have been a hard decision from the management side, but what I felt was, that big decision was taken to prove something may be… may be to prove that management still has the power over employees and such things can happen again!!! But from my point of view that decision was never acknowledged from the higher officials, and that taught still runs over all the old employees. And for the ones wondering what that decision was, I will tell what exactly what I was told – “ embedUR always wants its employees to perform at the high level, so people who are not able to perform it its expectations and whose area of interest are not aligned company tends to lay off for cost cutting scenarios” There is a domino effect taking place as with the attrition of employee strength, I think for past more than one year there has always been at least one employee resigning from the company. Well its quite ironic I could see this was triggered exactly after the layoff in 2017. More imbalance was caused when the experienced employees left (4 and 5 + years’ experience) all we could hire were freshers (mostly). This did cause/causing a great deal of issues in-between teams. Now enough of management issues, the work culture too has a bit of issues. I tried so hard to see do our company (when I was working in EUR) fall in its vision? well sadly it doesn’t. Now it has come to a point where every employee is expected to work on every other project, this might sound exciting for a few but practically – ‘One step at a time’ is always the best solution. With Eur lately, it is taking to many steps and managers are playing board games with the team members. I did see people working on too many projects and expected to commit to any task which are given to them. As with the new hires, it has mostly become a replacement hire rather than a new requirement hire. And hence there is no proper training time or induction time given to the new employees, they are expected to work from Day one. I feel company values its clients more ( no matter what) than its employees. This happens to a point where we are afraid to go up an tell to the client that we are not working today, we have activities going on, some one should stay back. I have seen all the games, fun activities will be planned either when the clients have holiday, or after 7PM in the evening. I am not sure whether if this is efficient time management or taking the most out of the employees! Now again to sum it up: 1) Old employees who know what embedUR is are going off, the with the very few left they are put into tough situations and it is pushing them to take hard decisions. 2) No work life balance! 3) There are not no seniors to give a proper KT’s to the new ones coming in, and hence there is no one to say, ‘Why things are done this way’! this makes the new hires to run in circles. 4) No Go-To guys, lately it is all young people at embedur and no design level discussions happening. It is all issue solving or doing what is said! 5) I felt I was not acknowledged with my work at right time, this really made me not to value few of the incentive awards given. Still I do feel it is not given by right evaluation and not transparent. 6) You do not have any of the fun activities happening, its all work. This is not a company you can have #embedur_ethinic day or #fun ever. 7) Employee and management level politics are seeping in, this is bad because Embedur was never into such things. I am not sure if it’s a senior scarce environment or whether the new employees bringing in, but this needs to be kept in check or we are sure going to lose our quality ( which are our employees)
