Pros
Great environment. Great people. Tons of fun perks to take advantage of including intramural sports, weekly lunches, beer o clock, etc. Great product as well. Providing a service that can help both sides of their marketplace immensely. The company is headed in the right direction.
Cons
The pay for a “sales” role is well below most other tech companies. The Partnership department really is not a true sales role as there is not revenue being closed. Instead, it is about pushing people to sign up for the platform (even if they don’t understand English) that simply adds to the value prop for the national sales team to bring in real revenue. In other words, you are replaceable. This is extremely evident by recent changes to the commission structure that are seemingly designed to weed people out. If you hit the unrealistic numbers that 90% of the team consistently misses you can make close to 6 figures, but unless you can handle making 2000 phone calls a month to many ESL customers, that is unlikely. The “unlimited vacation” policy has changed in a way that it deters people from taking time off as it would be impossible to make on a lofty numbers, resulting in a paycuts. Also, the company prides itself on being transparent but frequently sends mixed messages depending who you speak with. Management was never on the same page. Was clear they cared less about developing talent and more about volume addition to the caterer network.
