Pros

I have over 15 years of experience in small & large companies across several organizations and sites; this may just be the first place I've worked where EVERYONE actually wants to be at work and enjoys being at work. It's surreal and you want to question when the "true" colors will shine but I've been here long enough now to know that this is just a great place to be, people want to work here, and it is normal here. The things I like and appreciate about the culture: the start-up pace of work allows you to do many different things so you'll never be bored; the flexibility and speed to make decisions quickly; the people; the culture is super chill, energetic and fun; we're growing and have great products; we're profitable and have a healthy financial position; we continue to innovate...I could go on and on. Although we're a private and small company, our Exec team does a great job of communicating and keeping everyone updated on what we're doing and how we're doing it in our all-hands meetings. Oh, and did I mention that our Exec team is truly AWESOME? so down to earth, approachable and a truly flat organization. The start-up culture allows us to go fast and pivot quickly - this is a trait I love but it also means that there isn't much structure to many areas. If you struggle with change or lack of process, this isn't the place for you.

Cons

There are no cons that would ever outweigh the pros but everyone and everything has room for improvement. So a few things to work on: Diversity - this is a real opportunity; I understand that with a start-up, you have to bring the people that you know, which are the people in your inner circle. It's time to start building an intentional diverse culture. Management training - I love that hims gives the new and inexperienced managers an opportunity to lead BUT with a serious lack of structured training, coaching and mentoring program, this can be disastrous for the new manager and their direct reports. Experienced managers will have no issues here but just note that new managers are somewhat left to figure it out. We need to get a handle on this very quickly.

Pros

High-impact work with exceptional people. Hims gives you the opportunity to solve meaningful operational problems at scale. The pace is fast, the company is growing quickly, and you'll work alongside many talented operators who genuinely care about building something great. If you're someone who likes ambiguity and enjoys creating structure where none exists, you'll find plenty of opportunities to make an impact. There is also significant autonomy if you're willing to own problems and move quickly.

Cons

Decision-making and organizational alignment can lag behind the company's operational ambitions. There were times where ownership between HR, other HR functions, and Operations wasn't clearly defined, making it difficult to fully implement workforce strategies. Strong ideas and data-driven recommendations sometimes struggled to gain traction because priorities shifted or functions weren't aligned. As the organization continues to mature, clearer accountability and stronger cross-functional operating models would improve execution significantly. The HR organization was still maturing. As responsibilities expanded, ownership became increasingly centralized, but execution didn't always keep pace. This created situations where decisions crossed multiple functions without clear accountability, leading to rework, slower execution, and frustration for business partners.
