Pros

Base salary, remote work, can get commissions too.

Cons

Wants you to exceed expectations without management support. Toxic positivity was too much makes you wanna vomit! Management reacts aggressively to criticism. And then fire people for commenting and saying their grievances out loud!

Pros

The people. The team at soona has been one of the most supportive and inspiring collection of people I've met. I enjoyed my work as a Production Manager producing photo and video shoots.

Cons

As with most start ups, the atmosphere can be strained with high output.

Pros

You meet and work with amazing photographers at the local studio who are so friendly, artistic, creative, talented, and helpful. Very collaborative environment within the local employees.

Cons

The company frequently has layoffs and feels deeply financially insecure. The clientele is sometimes great but often difficult to work with. Photographers are expected to make magic within 45 minutes shooting anything from collapsible silicone shot glasses to nylon travel bags to dog treats. Clients are told they're the creative director but don't often have creative ideas, so you're left feeling like a monkey pushing a button and setting up scenes that aren't inspiring or interesting. As a freelance photographer now, the company feels like it's devaluing the photography market by offering such low photoshoots. Photographers are the lowest man on the totem pole at soona and are paid the least out of any position which feels ironic, because if they didn't have any photographers, they would go out of business in one minute.
