      High acquisition = layoffs

      Pros

      Growing company. Competitive pay. Good benefits. Remote work. Good female representation in leadership.

      Cons

      Risk of layoffs. No loyalty for years of service. Decentralized - lots of remote work is isolating. Struggle with managing remote workers/keeping them included. Continue to rebuild failed products from acquisition companies. Not as much advancement opportunity as they claim - employees get pigeonholed. Office politics gets in the way of letting employees produce. Leadership very Caucasian. A little bit of Asian minorities in leadership, but very few PoC in upper management.

      Pros

      Great company mission and culture! Empower has embraced the remote/hybrid work model and that leads to a fantastic work/life balance. Teams are communicative and collaborative.

      Cons

      There is no such thing as a perfect job or a perfect company. There will always be job related stress and/or frustrations. Having said that, Empower has been the best place to work in my career. My management team listens to everyone on the team and proactively asks for feedback and/or new ideas.
