Pros

Good 401(k) plan with matching that begins on date of hire. Free parking in Milwaukee. Low cost of health and dental benefits. Good vacation and personal time benefits starting on date of hire.

Cons

Poor career development. One can tend to be "slotted" in the position for which they were hired, especially if they were good at it. To receive a promotion or a different position within the company, you need to apply on the company website and hope that your current manager won't fight to keep you put.

Pros

work life balance, paid leave, friendly colleagues and managers, acceptable benefits, 40 hour work week, covered parking, small gym, onsite cafeteria, fun, job security, if you hire in at a high enough level you will be well paid.

Cons

Poorly designed and complex legacy software that's mostly in maintenance mode. Unwillingness to allow or accept telecommuting. Silos and lack of cooperation across teams. Some teams have people doing nothing and soaking up a paycheck, others are overworked and understaffed. A bizzare mix of inane bureaucratic policies and a cowboy approach. Entrenched mindset of doing things the way they've always been done.

Good people who are very willing to help you when you have any questions. Very open and helpful.

Cons

Many people have become ingrained in what they do, so it's difficult for new comers to advance. They're not very open to pursue postions, unless you had performed a job like that previously.. Would expect that when bringing in someone from the outside.
