Pros

Absolutely nothing! Not one thing

Cons

Toxic work environment, rude/ gossipy coworkers, incompetent & lazy CNAs, no teamwork, unethical management that let patients die instead of transferring them to acute and are ok with leaving patients soiled and lying in a bed that's soiled. I was told to "back off" when I advocated for my patients well-being. Poor training, favoritism, endless documentation, poor pay, management will not allow you to use your own pto to go to the doctor!!!! patients are not rehab appropriate! Feels like you're working in a psych ward. Hostile coworkers, management does nothing to ensure your safety.. WORST PLACE TO WORK!!

Pros

If you are a christian than the PRO is Encompass Health is a christian based organization. If you are not a christian, than make sure you do your homework prior to joining the organization.

Cons

The constant pay changes throughout the organization without prior knowledge; nurses will work over 40 hours per week and still not meet their productivity bonuses and not get paid overtime; Sales people will be promised one bonus pay out plan and then it will change for some reason or another; Turnover - there is a high turnover due to false promises made to new hires and most will leave pretty quickly; There is not a tenured staff in most branches or divisions; Lies and Lack of integrity - for a christian based organization the leadership tends lie a great deal and give false promises; i.e. contests or "kudo" events the winners never are given their promised dinners, gift cards or days off. Lack of support and teamwork - its non-existent Sales folks - they are stepping over one another at accounts and fighting over referrals; senior management believes this is the best way to get business - let the sales people fight over the accounts. SERVICE FAILURES and LEADERSHIP FAILURES: i.e. the hiring of John Lochman

Pros

Pay is competitive. Crew can be great to work with.

Cons

There was a lot of politics in play. It was always about the numbers, and seldom about the patients. If Executive or upper level decided you weren't liked, it didn't matter how good you could be, it was a set up and then fired. I watched this happen more than once with co-workers. I watched Directors do things that were totally outside their scope - and not on their team. Seems that someone in the upper echelon was always sticking their nose where it didn't need to be on someone else's team. We were ALWAYS short staffed, no matter how many got hired, and that seemed strange to me. Maybe because the ones that got hired, weren't treated very well so they looked for work elsewhere. Over worked and stress is always so thick that even the patients and their families said they noticed it.
