You run your own business without someone always looking over your shoulder. Freedom to make your own choices that you think is best.

Cons

There will be times when you work long hours. A lot of politics to consider as you have three groups of people you need to make happy. The hotel, the hotels end users, and your boss.

Benefits, Opportunity To Relocate If Desired, Job Stability, Great Entry Level To Start Career

Cons

Lack of development for employees. Zero work life balance. Expected to be on call 24/7 as salaried manager. Had to even take work related calls while on vacation. Complain or try to improve current shortfalls, you will face severe resistance and even punished. Excel & even exceed expectations are not compensated or recognized. Tenure with company? Nothing. Treated as just another face.

They will actually put some effort into finding opportunities if you are interested in relocation. You can learn a lot about the business world by virtually running your own business as a director

Cons

Well, once you have gone up a couple of location tiers, then what? The pay increases come to a halt, the hours can still be horriffic (although that is the nature of the industry). PSAV is just a large enough corporation to forget about the humanistic aspect of us cogs that turn the gears of profitability. Welcome to the machine.
