Pros

Free bagels, occasional company celebrations, free parking and you get to meet A LOT of people due to the constant churn at England Logistics

Cons

Jason Beardall. Rarely before have I seen such a blatant example of disregard for even the most fundamental leadership effectiveness practices. Jason treats this company as his little country club where those that just nod with a dumb grin on their faces survive, and those who dare recommend improvements find themselves glumly looking walk to their cars with a box of their belongings in their arms.

It is humanly impossible for me to speak to an individual persons experience in a given organization or situation. I wouldn't even pretend to; not even for my children or grandchildren in my own family and home. All I can do is speak to my own experience. I guess I'm one of those individuals who is an unexpected member of the "little country club" who "just nod[s] with a dumb grin on their [my] faces." Because in the year I have spent at England Logistics I have been privileged to work directly with and report to Jason Beardall. So if you believe my comments will be biased I can accept that. But I offer it as the truth as I have experienced it and I know there are many people who know me and would attest to my integrity and forthrightness regardless of what or who I am speaking about. My experience with Jason Beardall, whether in a group meeting or in a one-on-one has been incredibly rich. He is honest and real. What you see is what you get. But unlike many people, especially leaders, Jason is very self-aware. He knows where he is strong and where he is weak. When one of his weaknesses shows he acknowledges it, apologizes, and works to correct any problems created or offense given. I have been greatly stretched and challenged this past year and I have grown because of it. I wish that your experience could have much more rich and rewarding like mine. I wish you could have worked closely with Jason Beardall as I have. I believe your perspective and experience at EL would have been much different and you would still be here. We definitely agree on one thing...WE COULD BE EXPONENTIALLY BETTER. But I don't agree that "do[ing] away with Beardall" is the answer. It is under his leadership that we have been making the improvements we have over this past year. Do we have more to do? Yes! But having come from one of the best places to work in America, I can tell you that we have the recipe before us and the correct basic ingredients to make it happen. We just need to keep committed to listening to and learning from our people; and continuously improving. The first and repeating step is to always be looking in the mirror as the place to start. Thank you for holding the mirror up from your perspective. Greatest success to you!

Pros

There are a lot of great people that work there. They have one senior account manager (17 years of service) and she does an amazing job running her team and they pay her less than everyone else because she has been there longer... It is mind boggling. The industry is very exciting and fast paced.

Cons

Senior Management is disconnected with the reality of the job being done on the floor and the challenges taking place. Middle management is discouraged from expressing anything other than the rhetoric they have been given from upper management. VERY HIGH TURNOVER.

Yes, there are a lot of great and highly respected people who work here, 17 years and more and less. Yes, our turnover is higher than we want it to be. It is a major concern for you, me, and all of us here. It is an expressed concern for the England family as well. Because of the depth of this shared concern we are trying to learn from the feedback back shared in these reviews, in exit interviews, our employee engagement survey, Idea Olympics and every other avenue we can tap into. In turn we are striving to take those lessons learned and make changes to improve the growth, development and experience of our people. We for sure have plenty of ground to cover. But we are committed to improving. Thank you for pointing out some of the areas we need to focus our commitment and energy. Great success to you and your future!

Pros

Free pop, tv in the break rooms. great people that work for them

Cons

Bad management, nepotism, does not work with employees. Once you do really well with your sales, you have to keep doing better to be able to get the bonus'.

Thank you for the feedback. As leaders in an organization it is not always easy to hear the tough feedback, but frequently it is some of the most helpful. During this past year we have really focused on becoming the Great Place to Work you indicated we could be. We are striving to listen more to our people and to develop the management team at all levels to become great leaders. Yes, we do have a lot of family relationships throughout the company and continue to view that as a strength, while also striving to make sure favoritism of any kind does not take away from bringing quality known (and even related) people into the company. Also, we do expect more of ourselves, as leaders, and more of our people each day, because we believe that continuous development is part of growth and becoming a Great Place to Work. We believe this benefits everyone individually and collectively in the short term and the long run. Thank you again for your feedback. Greatest success to you!
