Pros

You'll see quite a few negative reviews of England Logistics. They should all be put to rest. You might read that they work you to the ground like slave drivers. You might hear that management doesn't promote their own or listen to the people under them. It's all malarkey. England Logistics is a great company. The negative reviews you might read are just a reflection of the people writing them than they are of the company. What you have are angry, bitter, bad-tempered, lazy employees who don't have anything better to do than complain and expect the world on a silver spoon. England Logistics is filled with people who work hard and play hard. If you come to England with a bad attitude or expecting a handout you may as well look elsewhere. When you're at work, you're expected to work. Those that put in the effort usually stay for years and have a long and prosperous career here. As I look around the company I see hard-working, good-attitude people promoting like crazy. I've had two promotions in the last year alone. Middle management is 100% concerned with helping their teams grow. I see managers happily jump in the trenches with their employees to get the job done. They're willing to help any way they can. Upper management is constantly looking for ways to move the company and reward hard work. Transparency is a huge pillar in the company. Every week we meet as a company to discuss the company's performance. There is no doubt that this is a company that is growing and will only continue to grow. I would guess that the company will probably double in size in the next few years. All of that growth means promotion opportunities. The company regularly hosts events for the whole family. Every year we have BBQs, picnics, hikes, ski night, casino night, a day at Boondocks, Real Salt Lake soccer games, service opportunities. Every summer they sponsor an entire week of "Olympics" for employees to go outside to compete in dodge-ball, wiffle-ball, 3-point shootout, etc. They're always doing the little things that make you feel appreciated. Several people have commented that employees don't appear to be happy when they're at work. Haven't you ever heard to not judge a book by it's cover? I might not look happy when I'm at work. I'm too busy being awesome to worry about whether or not I "appear" to be happy. If you know how to work hard and have a great attitude, come work for England Logistics. You'll love it.

Cons

Health insurance is pretty expensive. I'm pretty sure that England Logistics combines with C.R. England for health benefits which means that we're pooled with a bunch of truck drivers who don't typically have great health. The first year at EL is tough as far as vacation goes because you only get 5 days of PTO during your first year. PTO doubles in your second year though. Once you're past year 1, vacation is pretty much the same as anywhere else.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, we are attached to CR England and they are working on cost containment, just as we are. However, in evaluating benefits we have found that we have a higher utilization rate than the rest of CRE because of all of our young families at EL. Because of this reality we are working with CRE to find more creative ways to help us all contain costs and become more competitive in our out of pocket benefits costs. Thank you again for the feedback!

Pros

Sadly, I cannot think of a positive reason to work there.

Cons

Everyone looks scared ALL the time, for fear of losing their job. The environment is hostile, no breaks (ever), micro-management like you have never seen before, no seriously it's unreal. If management decides they don't like you.......you are toast, fired, gone and they will tell your co-workers that you were a horrible person, regardless of how well you have performed. Commissions are SO low there is zero incentive to work your butt off, which is what they demand. Their base pay is among the lowest I have seen in Utah. If you have ever worked somewhere that is so painful, monotonous, back-stabbing, soul-draining and makes you feel beaten down constantly, treading water just to survive....I assure you that experience was NOTHING compared to what England Logistics has in store for you. It's a sunken ship with toxic waste and will suck happiness right out of the happiest person. If they contact you, run for the hills and don't look back. Literally the WORST company I have ever had the displeasure of working for. They prey on those who have no other options........

I'm sorry that you had such a negative experience at England Logistics. I'm not sure how long ago you worked here, nor can I speak to your individual experience. But because there are people like yourself who have apparently have very negative experiences here and have shared their feedback we have been working even harder to address the issues raised and to become a better work environment. Our performance standards are high and for many so are the rewards that follow. We are continually striving to strengthen the training, coaching, support and tools our people have available to help them take ownership of their jobs and to succeed. Those who do experience tremendous levels of success in person, professional, and financial success. Thank you again for your candid feedback and helping us to become a place of growth and success for our people.

Pros

You can learn to sell freight then move on to a real company. I also enjoyed my coworkers, but we have all quit by now.

Cons

Slave drivers, weekend phone unpaid, argue to get paid commissions on cross sales, it was literally the worst job of my life and I've worked some crappy jobs.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Many of your points especially regarding weekend phone duty and challenges with cross sales have been true. We have taken significant steps over this past year to remove these challenges and other barriers to the quality of work life and success to our people. We continue to be committed to becoming a better company and an even stronger leader in the third party logistics industry. We are also striving to become a great place for our people to work. We do stretch ourselves here and ask everyone to do the same. In return, the growth and rewards are tremendous. We invite anyone to come and get to know us and see the tremendous potential here, as we all work to continuously improve. Thank you again for sharing your experience.
