Thank you for your positive comments on our associates’ personalities. We are fortunate to have tens of thousands of applicants to choose from so we are able to select truly exceptional individuals to populate our teams. As for our training, honestly, I’m surprised by your remarks. Ensemble’s training has been lauded by the provider community. So much so that we are frequently asked to offer our RCM staff training as a packaged service for providers. Further, our associates consistently lead the industry in revenue cycle performance measures including cash collections, patient experience and cost efficiency which I think speaks volumes to the efficacy of our training. Finally, we leverage state-of-the-art learning management systems to help ensure learner success. Taking all those things together, I feel confident in the program we have developed. Where we sometimes find trainees struggle is in the area of personal effort. Even in a world-class training environment, the degree to which a trainee is a self starter (or not) will ultimately determine if they are successful in the program. With that said, if you have specific feedback you can share with me on how we can improve our programs I make every effort to implement great ideas. I welcome your thoughts: ShareWithShannon@EnsembleHP.com.

Pros

Some of the leaders are competent. Culture and diversity is good. You can freely express your fashion choices within reason, i.e. business casual attire is required but certain piercings, colorful hair, and tattoos are all allowed.

Cons

Certain teams have terrible leadership. Also the president and CEO held a company wide meeting and stated no one was getting furloughed due to covid-19; what they failed to mention, however, is that some would completely get “let go” permanently. The president Shannon was also very involved and sent positive and morale-boosting emails every week, and we would see her relatively often in the office; I wish the CEO was just as involved but we never saw or heard from him much, just heard a lot about him.

Thank you for your positive remarks regarding Ensemble’s culture and diversity. We couldn’t be more proud of our team and the environment that we foster for each other. Our culture of inclusion has yielded immeasurable rewards both personal and professional. I did want to remark on the inconsistency you perceived in our commitment avoid furloughs while some associates were let go. While I always regret it, the fact remains: in an organization of over 6000 people there will be times when individuals choose to leave and times when we need to let someone go. In an industry where so many organizations jumped to furlough and cut, our executive team opted to take a reduction in compensation in order to avoid cutting or furloughing our associate staff as we endured significant reductions in revenues during the pandemic. We stood firm on our core principle of people first, last and always. Thank you also for your comments on my emails. I am so glad that they brought you positivity. I take your feedback to heart. It would be impossible to overstate how important this family is to me. I wish I could spend a full week with each member of this amazing team. Certainly, whenever we get consistent reports of an issue with a member of our team, whether it’s a front-line associate or a senior exec, we take it seriously. We use a rigorous and consistent, three-phase process to address staff issues and we provide multiple communication channels for associates to raise concerns (including an open door policy at every tier of leadership). If your sense is that concerns you had shared about a particular leader went unheeded, I want to encourage you to reach out to me to let me know - ShareWithShannon@EnsembleHP.com. I am committed to empowering the voices of our associates and I want to make sure our communication channels are supporting that.

Pros

I don't know where to start. Outstanding coworkers, incredibly bright and talented leaders, candid and transparent executives, and general regard for employees and clients across the board. In the midst of a pandemic, with so many losing jobs and income, I'm beyond grateful to have a company who has made this the last option. There is no winning for an employer in a situation like this but I have full faith in the company and sincerely appreciate how they've navigated the current climate. While I was extremely happy with my role, my career path, and just the environment here as a whole prior to this, the actions as an organization are a huge testament to their true character. I have friends asking constantly for referrals and how to join the organization because they see the satisfaction I have. For the first time in my adult life, I can say I am doing my dream job and couldn't imagine being anywhere else.

Cons

Every company has its problems and ours typically are only tied to rapid growth, which us just a symptom of high demand. My only critique is to look at remote/commuting benefits when able (insurance not tied to Cincinnati, hot spots or work phones with data plans for travel work, etc.). All in all, the perks far outweigh any negatives.
