Pros

Pay Benefits Annual bonus Week off once a month (when you actually get it, who’s is almost never) On weekends you don’t have poor management to deal with

Cons

Management is extremely poor Communication is almost non-existent State of chaos almost all of the time Always putting out “fires” all the time, back to back, one after another Poor life/work balance, waaaay too much OT Management does not acknowledge anything you have to say or contribute to the team Atmosphere of us versus them when it comes to operations and management Very toxic work atmosphere altogether, not worth the headache, plenty of other paying jobs with other energy companies

Pros

Pay Shift coworkers Benefits Schedule Weekends, when there is no management onsite

Cons

Management Management Management Management Management The Team Lead model is absolutely ridiculous and ignorant! I have seen some bad management before but this plant absolutely takes the cake. Absolutely never in my professional career have I ever witnessed the level of unprofessionalism displayed by the current management of this facility. It is no wonder that this place seems to be a revolving door with CROs, CRO Leads, and P-Techs. Poor work life balance. There are people here that clocked over 1200 hours of OT in a year, which is absolutely ridiculous and insane! Entergy as a company is a very good company, however I absolutely would not recommend this plant to anyone! I worked for another plant previously and the culture and management there compared to this plant is night and day! I’ve only been here three months and I already have another job interview. Will definitely be leaving this nightmare soon.

Pros

Generally good to individuals - managers do try to take care of their people - I have seen them go out of their way to do the right thing for employees that needed it due to severe illness or other circumstance. Overall they did do a lot of things for employees that they did not need to when shutting down my plant

Cons

Plant shutdown came with 4 years 'advance notice' and the company did some good things in that time like offer a retention bonus, and transfer opportunities but once we were 2 years into that retention bonus they re-wrote the rules governing pensions in a way that hurt a lot of people, not because they had to but because they could. Never an industry leader when it comes to salary & benefits. Supervisors & management were paid less than their unionized direct reports, sometimes significantly. Overall feeling was that they offered management only as much as they absolutely needed to while being far more generous with the unions.
