Pros

Great scale of wages. Actually overpriced for what they do. Offers incentive bonus based on performance.

Cons

HRO management (specifically lower and mid level have no training allowing them to understand and mentor their staff. Abuse of power at supervisor level is not uncommon in this organization by this level of management. they exhibit hostile and negative behavior to subordinates. They wukk balk at any idea that might challenge their own and have been know to target employees that challenge with disciplinary actions. Lack of developmental opportunities and job enrichment makes for a stagnant employees. There is NO clear direction and with the Shared Services environment those that are not in teh HR department are left to feel like trained monkeys as they are considered the "paper pusher" and their input for strategic projects is not sought out by managment within either HR or HRO.

Plant Life can be rough

Pros

Salary is decent for the work being done. The work isn't overly complicated and there are a lot of great people at the site.

Cons

Salaried employees get taken advantage of, especially engineers. You never get overtime or comp time except in the refueling outage, which is to be expected at a plant. However, if you have a light week, you still have to log a minimum of 40 hours that week. Anytime the plant trips, you come in, so quality of life is terrible. Also, you will only get 2 weeks of vacation a year for the first 6 years. If you plan on getting promoted early, just be aware that you will get the title, just dont expect the raise to be based off merit, it's based off time. Wouldn't be a problem except the site constantly reaffirms that promotions are based off merit.

Pros

Flexible hours, understanding management, personnel are helpful and friendly. Overall it is a good work environment and they understand the importance of a good work-life balance. Benefits are pretty good for the most part.

Cons

Overtime work for emergent issues and 'emergency response' responsibilities can get a little tiresome.
