Pros

Benefits, 401(k), Community Involvement, Pay, Diversity

Cons

No work life balance - ALL about execution, less about the people - HR is a TOXIC environment with horrible leadership that is allowed to get away with treating employees poorly - Innovation is not allowed - Must follow the rigor already in place - The worse company I have ever worked for. "We Power Life", but they suck the life out of people working there.

Pros

This isn't really a pro but Entergy will not fire anyone.... So there's job security at least.

Cons

Poor communication from leadership. Nothing is truly performance based. Years of service count more than individual performance. Unclear career path and guidance. They promised a hybrid schedule and last second pulled that out from under us and forced a full time return within two weeks of notice. There was no phasing back to the office. Just in general poor support from the company as a whole. Management makes out like bandits on the backs of us "regular" workers.

Pros

Great benefits, very safe work culture, some business units are very healthy and some are kind of toxic - depends on leadership. Every other Friday off. Good vacation 3 weeks and several Federal holidays. Good Enshape program and they reimburse for gyms. When storms happen, everyone comes together and we are at our best. We provide very low electric rates which is great for our customers. We one of the few utilities creating new generation sources. Lots of hiring going on right now.

Cons

Lack of unified leadership across the enterprise, Some business units do their own thing. Hard to get good people to move to some power plant locations. Have to pay for your own parking at corporate in New Orleans. HR has brand new leader who things the "way they did it at Texas Instruments" is the way we should do it no matter what the data says. Nuclear is a very tough culture because of such a high degree of regulation. Chris Bakken is doing a good job, but he can only go so fast, Hybrid is up to supervisor and craft and union don't like that.
