The work itself may be creative and events may turn out o be exciting and well-produced. There is a high demand and speed, which means that you gain practical skills soon enough.

Cons

The work conditions were highly exhausting and cause burnouts! It is a management of narcissistic heads where ego is always the priority over teamwork, the welfare of the crew, or constructive feedback. Biases were highly evident and significantly affect the oppotunities, credit, or concessions awarded to people instead of performance or effort! The amount of responsibility, hours, and stress involved is low-paid and it's hard to rationalize the workload in the long run. High turnover and low morale are caused by long hours without much recognition and payment.

No two events are the same, so my work is interesting and varied. I’ve quickly learned how bars and large events actually run behind the scenes. Strong teamwork. Bartenders and staff rely on each other. Flexible shifts, which works well if you’re balancing school or another job.

Cons

Irregular hours depending on the event schedule.
