Pros

I was given about 6 shifts, which helped me survive a period of time on a very basic level. The direct deposit and payday worked as it was supposed to. There was something slightly fun about it. They give you a little meal at the end of the night, and it still tastes ok, even though it's been wrapped in plastic sitting in a heater for about 4 hours before you can eat it. I scored an insulated travel mug that was left there on new years eve. BONUS!

Cons

The intake of employees (at a "hiring event" in a nondescript office in the middle of nowhere) was about a 30-page packet to fill out with social security, etc. Nobody knew what was going on. I didn't get a shift till a month after applying. They missed one of my logins and I had to wait many weeks to get paid for it. Nobody ever knows what's going on at the shifts. It's a hot mess. The owner of the company is a toxic man who operates through intimidation, both to the worker peons and the managers. I was in the room when he cussed out one of the managers and swore to her face. Someone a bit too keen on power and authority. Also, the events are not that special. The wedding setups are mediocre to boring at best. They own a cool building but their cheap equipment, vibes, and how they run things is pretty sad. They have cameras everywhere and you get instantly fired if you misplace something or take a bite of food. they did not offer any extra compensation, tips or bonuses, not even for new years eve, and texted on christmas eve to say "you are scheduled for new years eve." lucky for them, there are enough broke people out there desperate for money who will do it. But they should treat those people better. When there was no more work after 12/31/19, I simply didn't hear anything. I emailed twice, but no reply. Strange to still technically be an "employee" of a company that never puts you on shifts.

Pros

Hardworking employees and great relationships built while working here.

Cons

The entire company is mismanaged. From basic scheduling to accounting, nothing seems to be running smoothly. A few hours before an event, the rooms may not be close to set-up because the schedule was not sent out and there are no waitstaff scheduled to work. Vendors are waiting months to receive payments and, even worse, employees are not receiving paychecks on-time either. Servers and wedding coordinators are underpaid and overworked. Most servers are temps because the turnover is so high. In two years, over 10 wedding coordinators/assistants have either been let go or quit. Overall, customer service is poor because of the turnover in the wedding department. The owner doesn't care about this though, as long as weddings are being booked and deposits are coming in.

Pros

Most of their venues have excellent access to transit You will definitely learn professionalism and how to serve properly Was offered a raise and the opportunity to be promoted to a supervisory role within the first year of working there.

Cons

I never once saw a gratuity, even though I know for a fact they were collecting them for our work, as I'd heard one of the sale folks talk about the gratuity one time and also saw an invoice sitting out that listed a gratuity another time. Both were for events I worked and I never once got a gratuity in my paycheck.
