Pros

I enjoy what I'm doing at Entrata and I love the unity that exists in the Implementation/Consulting department. I know many others have my back and are there to help and I'm there to help them when needed. There is great synergy in this department. The values are fun and it seems people really keep them in mind as they interact with each other. The company is growing and there is very little that can slow it down.

Cons

We've recently had comp reviews and are going through comp reviews for the year with a planned change in timing for our next compensation moving from October to January. Here's the part that hits the hardest though: the cutoff date for getting any sort of comp increase for this year is May 1st. To put this in perspective, any title change that happened after that will not get a comp increase which means that for those of us who have had these changes we will go upward of 20 months without a comp increase unless we look for another department to go to; or worse another company. No proration, no partial increase. Those that get a comp increase also get back of that comp increase back to October of this year. The Implementation teams shattered our goals this year and this is not the way to say thanks to those that have been promoted or joined the department this year. Part of our "Total benefits package" that we're being told is part of our comp package is the ability to work from home full-time. That's not a big deal. We've been working from home for almost 2 years now and have had the 2 biggest years back to back working from home. I will give credit that they are increasing the 401k match in 2022. But that applies to everyone, including those who ate getting raises this year.

Pros

The people are by far the top pro. There are so many genuinely nice people at Entrata that it makes it easy to go to work everyday. So far i have been very impressed with the new leadership - particularly in the upgrade in CEO. Plenty of opportunities to apply for advancement or opportunities in other departments. Like a lot of tech companies these days, they really try to balance working hard and playing hard. Lots of fun activities and gifts/prizes.

Cons

I feel like the company has struggled with growing pains during its transition from scrappy startup, to up-and-comer, to it's position now as a legit player in the multi-family software industry. Some of the things that are probably beneficial as a startup have held the company back from reaching its full potential. In particular, mid- to upper-level management is full of people that were either there from the very beginning, are friends with the founders, or were simply good enough at the jobs they had to be moved into leadership positions without necessarily being skilled managers. (I know that this isn't unique to Entrata. Hiring managers is often like buying lottery tickets, and it's hard to find good ones. I also want to say that there are some VERY good managers at Entrata. This is just a common complaint that I have heard across departments in my time there.) Additionally, sometimes it feels as though the social aspects of the job are pushed because when people feel like they are working with friends, and those friends depend on them, they are more likely to accept poorer pay and benefits. The pay is not very competitive for the industry and the company has used bonuses in lieu of decent pay raises. (Which is also pretty common for companies to do these days.)
