Good Company but capable of so much more...

Pros

Working here is positive for me from a culture standpoint, but is terrible in comparison to other tech companies when it comes to benefits, technology, and investing in its employees.

Cons

The company has 2 values that get flaunted that I question: "Be excellent to each other" "Be the Joneses" Well, here's the problem - other tech companies in the valley offer paid benefits (not a cruddy high deductible / $600 a month family plan), 5-20% annual bonuses depending on company position, better PTO plans, and etc... Entrata is not being excellent to its employees or being the Joneses by giving employees a t-shirt and an occasional trip to the movies. It's fun, but ultimately doesn't help an employee provide for their family. That's the x-factor that retains your BEST employees.

Pros

You can get benefits working either full time or part time, can get a $500 or $250 bonus after working for 6 months, and there is the option to work from home as a leasing agent.

Cons

There is no consistency at the Leasing Center in accountability, methods and procedures, or management. If you ask four people in a managerial position about breaks or some kind of procedure, you will get four different answers. Many employees who commit time theft or ignore their duties and deadlines simply get off with a short warning and end up committing the same grievance multiple times before they move on to another job. Many decisions are made based on how a certain manager is feeling that particular day and their amount of like/dislike towards the employee in question. Very few people here have integrity and sincere care for the employees working on their team and it shows in the high turnover. The majority of senior management is looking to blame someone else for their failures, and they refuse to admit when they've made a mistake or unwise decision. Most people who move into a management position are from a basic, starting position and have no experience in managing a team, being a leader, giving advice and critique, or in handling confrontation in a professional manner. Everyone seems to listen, but no one does anything about the issues and concerns.

Pros

CEO believes in culture, people are great, industry we work in is exciting and challenging. Lots of autonomy. Room for growth. Fast growing company.

Cons

Benefits are sub par. Have to pay $600 a month for a high deductible ($3000 per individual) insurance plan while companies across the street offer 100% paid. No paid maternity or paternity leave. One Entrata Value is to "Be the Joneses" and they are not being that in this area. Everything else is pretty great. Oh except even though the CEO is super cool and should be respected for all he's done and how much he contributes to company culture, he persuades departments to hire girls he dates and then those girls get pulled out of meetings and regular duties to go on vacations and don't put in PTO for it like the rest of the company has to.
