Pros

They'll give you great experience for another job. They don't mind giving positions to the under-qualified who work hard, but they'll give you a fraction of the national average for your position and squeeze the work out of you til there's nothing left of your home life.

Cons

Terrible work life balance. If there is a problem with the software (and there always is) and you're even remotely able to assist then you're expected to drop whatever you're doing at home and get involved. They also require Product Dev Managers to work 3-6 hours at night to assist their teams in India and be on call 24-7 for major issues though they do not cover your phone bills/internet get you a work phone or anything even close. There are also no bonuses except a Christmas gift and a required trip to their cabin in the mountains in the middle of winter where there will be no alcohol, no family, and a good chance of being snowed in with your co workers. That brings me to the "we're family" culture crap. They call the cabin trip a "family reunion", they ask people to make donations if one of the employees has some big hardship, and while that one is nice I cant help but notice how the company doesn't offer to match the donations and how promoting the family attitude is great for retaining downtrodden workers with crap pay. Also, I'm pretty sure the CEO is a sociopath, but whose CEO isn't these days?

Thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts. Sometimes our team members are required to go above and beyond to meet clients’ needs, so we offer voluntary events like the Jones Family Reunion to kick back, relax and celebrate the accomplishments of everyone on the team. Ideas for other activities are always welcome. When members of our team experience extreme hardships we do get the word out and provide a vehicle to collect voluntary donations that are generally matched by the company. I understand that we could have done better in communicating these details to the team and we’re working to formalize a more transparent program. Our employees are the real deal, so optimizing work-life balance, compensation, training and benefits are our top priorities. We hope to continually improve in these areas, and will take your feedback into account as we do so.

Pros

The attitude is that of being successful and leading the industry. The company wanted people to reach goals and to think out of the box. It was great coming to work and be surrounded by very smart and dedicated people.

Cons

Opportunities for advancements wasn't very clear. Our department's salary increases were different from the rest of the company, it was frustrating.

Pros

HR and those over hiring in certain departments have done a great job bringing in fun people. Some departments are a lot more fun than others, but overall the average person is great.

Cons

If the rest of the industry didn't lag so far behind to start with, all of PSI's clients would have already left. The industry is catching up, all while flagship products (Entrata) sit in eternal beta testing or receive little to no attention or improvements. The instability and outages are discouraging and frustrating to employees and clients. This can be traced back to a CEO who is such a mad scientist manager and leader it can't be stressed enough. There is a reason that all of upper management has relationships with him that vary from strained to not on speaking terms. I wish I could think of one positive thing to say about Dave Bateman's current abilities as a CEO. He fails at almost every level of leadership and management. So while you may initially take a job here and really enjoy reporting to some great middle managers, know that if you progress far enough you will be subject to a CEO who wields absolute control and thinks he (and each of his late night, coding-induced ideas) is infallible. He uses his control to spread company resources on so many new products and projects that the products that actually make money and have the chance to be successful will be so bug ridden and time delayed that they'll never take over the market like they might have. I could go on with anecdotes, but I feel very strongly that PSI will never achieve its true potential with Dave Bateman at the helm, and the compensation, training, and product quality will all stay at their current poor levels unless he steps aside.
