Pros

They are willing to take a chance on anyone teach able. If you are looking to get into tech they are not afraid of a different background. The company has all the visible tech perks. Fun parties and a soda machine in the breakroom. You will also meet some one the best employees. I still text former co-workers.

Cons

TOXIC. BRO. CULTURE. If you are a white, straight, sports loving, heterosexual male, who doesn't mind the phrase "you just gotta play the game," this is the place for you. I have heard there have been changes but my management was unkind and often clueless. I was harassed, belittled, and bullied by management and those wanting to get ahead. Since leaving I have lost 65 lbs and my hair is growing back. There is a constant need to prove yourself and "be a team player." They want you for who they think you should be. Not for what you could bring to the table. This company might be headed in a new direction, but they had a CEO/Owner who was known by the company to be checked out and hatefully. I don't blame anyone for needing a job to feed their family. However, that fact that so many knew what was happening and emulated him rather than called him out was and is problematic. You'll always be expected to work beyond your role. You are not so share your opinion and if you're applying push for more because they will lowball you.

Pros

Entrata has some of the best people in the world working here. I really enjoy all of my coworkers and others that I work with across all other departments. The remote work setup has been great and really allows for more flexibility in work/life balances. We make some truly great products that are making a difference in our industry. Entrata is good about culture and planning fun things throughout the year that we can do with our families.

Cons

The last couple years at Entrata have been interesting. When founder Dave Bateman stepped down as CEO, he remained on the board and hand-picked his replacement. His replacement has spent most of the last 18 months hiring his friends (primarily white males) to fill many key executive leadership roles despite there being highly qualified and diverse internal candidates that shouldve been more seriously considered. Mr. Bateman was forced to step away from the company earlier this year as a result of an email controversy. It was refreshing to see leadership respond quickly to what was a terrible situation and they deserve credit for handling the situation well. But it was also frustrating to watch because the leadership here at Entrata has been aware of his controversial behavior for many years leading up to the email incident but none of them chose to act on this knowledge until their hand was forced due to the fallout and public pressure from the media and industry following the email controversy. So while it was good to see the response, many of us feel strongly that because they knew he was problematic they shouldve worked proactively to remove him long before he did so much damage to the company and the brand. Another unfortunate trend here over the last couple years is the amount of key leaders leaving around the organization (some of them under mysterious circumstances.) Since the new leadership team has been in place we have been losing lots of important people such as an svp of product, our head of marketing, our cto, and our cpo as well as others which is really unfortunate because they were valuable members of the team and culture here at Entrata. In conclusion the company seems to be in a decent place despite some troubling trends. I’m hoping the new leadership will be able to listen to the people because many of us have given alot to Entrata and want to see it succeed.

Pros

I worked with some great, truly amazing people including the COO.

Cons

I wasn't going to share my experience working with Entrata but with recent happenings I think it is time. Take a look at the employees of Entrata, especially at upper levels. You will see it is essentially all white men, then do a deeper dive and see which schools and churches they are affiliated with and you will see they are all LDS. With this, came a culture of exclusion. If you are not part of the LDS Boys club then expect the bottom of the barrel assignments and you must be happy about it or you will be treated with animosity or cut from the company as a patsy. I shared information about the discrimination I faced at the company during my exit interview before the Bateman fiasco and nothing was done about it to my knowledge since that person still works there and is likely facing a promotion. I did not share this information with HR during my tenure at Entrata due to being newer to the company and not feeling safe in my position to share my story. I've never worked for a company where corporate politics ran so deep that they were basically ran by an organization outside of itself. Poor "leaders" use the company values as weapons to really keep people in line and not as a way to build people up and give autonomy.
