Great Company

Pros

Benefits, values, location, culture are all great. I'm surprised to see the harsh comments here. It's not Utopia, no place is. You can see some of the growing pains. But the benefits are better than average - paid parking in busy urban area, excellent health coverage, employee recognition events. There is a strong safety culture and commitment to their stated values.

Cons

Hours can be long, but it's a 24 x 7 operation, and hours are long everywhere.

Pros

Decent benefits, high pay (depending who you know/are). Stocked kitchen.

Cons

I've never been so moved to write a review, ever. If I had the option of choosing "0 stars" as a rating, I would. I did pick up on a few red flags during my interview process (1) interviewing with people who were "fillers" and brought no insight to this role (2) interviewers had no clear understanding of my position while interviewing (3) long and multiple interview process, which isn't abnormal, so I decided to overlook that. I also did read these ratings during my process and I should've trusted my gut and decided against working for Enviva. I'd advise you to do the same. They will attract you with a very high paying offer; however, please trust that this company has zero structure and you will notice the downward spiral of inconsistencies, negativity, office-politics, favoritism, and overall degrading, disrespect and no communication from VPs/executives/management all within a few months...if you're lucky even to speak with the executives. It feels a lot like high school where no one actually communicates with each other, skills are underutilized, there's cliques, and there's a lot of "hush hush" conversations so nothing actually gets done efficiently. There is also a revolving door of employees being hired and mostly quitting before making it to 6 months - 1 year. Remember the old rule of thumb, "can't leave until the boss does," well, be prepared for little/no work-life balance, even if your job can be done remotely. You may also get some smug comments if you do leave at a decent hour, regardless if the work gets done. Enviva does a really great job of selling you into a great career move where you'd have a lot of influence and opportunity - it's a trap and a lie. Enviva has been a toxic environment in many ways, a challenging step back in my career and a blurred time frame of which, I cannot remove from my resume. Please don't be fooled by the attractive offer Enviva presents. Run. Far.

Could be a nice place to work, BUT...

Pros

Can be a career enhancing move. Bonus of 10% every year, selective training opportunities available. Upper mgmt are great sales people. Company seems to have a good future. Safety is important.

Cons

Upper management is very poor, demonstrates no understanding or interest in retaining talent, with the exception of those who befriend upper mgmt and are white males. HR is chaotically reorganized every 3-6 months. Executive assistants have come and gone repeatedly since I've been there, as have half the accounting staff.
