To start I will talk about the salary. The salary it is based on a union contract at about 16 per hour which for Chicago can be way to little. I have heard supervisors rushing the mechanics by cursing, yelling and treating them like garbage and that very often which can give place for mistakes and fights to happen. The is also a union contract that protects old employees form being fire and the guys with the least seniority are very vulnerable.
