Toxic QA Organization

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

- Outstanding products and leading-edge technology. - Competitive compensation. - Exceptional engineers.

Cons

- The QA department operates with a hierarchical structure that includes various management layers, such as senior directors, directors, senior QA managers, QA managers, and QA leads. Unfortunately, these layers are significantly disconnected from the products and are unaware of the daily tasks and projects their team members are engaged in. - Due to this organizational structure and lack of communication, office politics have become prevalent. Individuals are more focused on pleasing their management hierarchy than on their product-related responsibilities. Additionally, collaboration with the engineering team is challenging due to the misalignment in reporting structures between QA and engineering.
