Pros

Epic does manage to hire smart people, so your co-workers aren't typically numbnuts

Cons

No career growth. Employee turnover is high. Epic's non-compete agreements prevent you from working for consultants, customers, competitiors if you choose to quit. They try to reinforce these non-competes through "sneaky" means (since they cannot enforce them legally) like blacklisting you from their certification programs and even childish ways like calling up customer execs to complain about how their hiring practices is hurting Epic. Basically this is a dead end career. If you choose to leave Epic, you'll be armed with a load of build/technical experience in a proprietary system that you won't be able to leverage to advance your career.

Pros

- Fun campus - Good food - Improve healthcare

Cons

The tech stack is extremely antiquated and after working at Epic you will be left wondering what you have to show for it. Management is clueless and does respond to escalations and requests for more resources despite the motto of raising concerns “before all hell breaks loose”. Pay is weak compared to the rest of tech.
