Pros

The new job offer I received to leave this place.

Cons

My time within this “company” was by far the most bizarre, peculiar, and disturbing time of my life. I wish I could forever remove the experience from my memory. For any individual reading this PLEASE run for the hills, I beg of you. Any 5 star review you see on here was from a paid employee who was forced to do so by management - which is a fact. I have no idea how anyone in management is able to sleep at night. The majority of management has to be comprised of heartless robots because these people feel nothing and have zero conscience. Never in my professional career have I seen turnover like I did at Epitec. People are constantly disappearing. Constant anxiety and whispering amongst the recruiters. Paranoia. ZERO job security. A culture led by fear. They toss people in the trash like actual garbage and feel nothing afterwards. A top account manager was suddenly fired after 5 years of being with the company. If that doesn’t terrify you then I don’t know what else would. Recruiters are set up to fail. Period. You will be recruiting for a position that you have absolutely zero idea how to articulate and it’s in a completely foreign language. So good luck communicating these positions with candidates. Get ready for your account managers to not give you the time of day and treat you like a peasant. You will have no clue what you’re doing and you will feel lost, confused, trapped, and depressed every day. And lastly, get ready to have unrealistic goals and zero positive reinforcement to know whether or not you’re even doing a good job. It’s sink or swim. Actually, just sink. The “training program” was laughable. Recruiters are also extremely aware that they have an expiration date on them. Do not get stuck in this pit of despair. And if you are - I’m so sorry and I have the upmost empathy for you. Have faith the right opportunity WILL come.

DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY!

Pros

There is always free food, drinks, happy hours, company meetings. The first two weeks of training, they would take you out to lunch and talk about what happens, so you get to know the company culture. Pay is good, on top of the base there is commission and incentives (gift cards, money, leaving early, travel opportunities, etc) for meeting/exceeding goals and when your candidate gets hired, you get commission.

Cons

Benefits only kick in after 90 days of working there. VERY HIGH TURNOVER RATE! They get rid of people by telling them that "today is your last day. I'll grab your things, sign this, and I will walk you out." During my time there, many people who joined before and after me got let go before their 90 days with no reason given. Management does not listen to their employees. Everyone is old so they are set in their ways, don't be fooled by their appearances. They tend to talk a lot behind everyone's backs and usually when you hear someone's name being mentioned in a negative way, that person ends up suddenly disappearing from the company indefinitely. Just an FYI, you are forced to pay money to wear jeans on a Friday. Management make it seem like they are approachable, but they aren't. When you point something out to them, that would become a red flag and you will end up being on their "dislike list" or "next to be fired list." The CEO and wife are constantly traveling with the money recruiters (you) help them make and are never around to ask for advice.

Epitec Response

I am sorry that your experience with Epitec as an entry-level Recruiter was not a good one. Epitec cares about its reputation and we care about how we behave as an organization. Epitec has an award winning compensation package that pays for performance and our employees are provided with the training, process, and tools to generate employee success. We have clear definition of roles and responsibilities. This takes the mystery out of what is expected and what is acceptable. Benefits start 60 days from the first of the month after hire date. This is an industry standard. Epitec supports many charitable causes as part of our Community Initiatives. Supporting charities and the community is something that many of our employees tell us is important to them. Each payday, employees have the option to wear jeans, and if they do, we ask them to contribute $2.00 towards the selected charity of the month. At the end of the Month Epitec matches the employee dollars.

Pros

I cannot think of any pros at this time.

Cons

Number 1, they write fake reviews on here so please be aware of that. The CSO and COO reviews are true but their experience at Epitec is entirely different than the "genius finders" and delivery leads. Epitec is a panzi scheme. They bring you in at a low pay, work you hard (in a dysfunctional environment none the less) and then they let you go when they feel like turning the staff over, not paying you your bonus or commission, or because you decide to have a baby or do not fit the 21-25 year old age mark they are looking for. The leadership team is extremely childish and love to be in the mix of the drama. They will take you to court if you leave and go to a competitor. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS! DO not work here if you want to go on and work in another staffing environment. Another red flag is they bring in training teams of 10-15 people every other week and yet the company is 100 people or less. Please put the pieces together, it's because they are constantly letting people go. Please do not be discouraged, recruiting is a FUN job and not all staffing companies are like Epitec, you can go on to be a successful recruiter elsewhere and the environment can be SO much better. So, if they walk you out in front of the whole office (yes, they do this) please find some kind of comfort in knowing that all staffing companies are not this way.
