Pros

Lots of variety in client work. Interesting projects w/ high-profile clients. Initiative in employees rewarded. Free delicious lunch on Fridays + good snacks. Good work-life balance.

Cons

Workload can be spiky (but that's sort of the nature of client work). Sometimes I wish there was a little less work-life balance so I could push projects a bit harder.

Pros

Opportunity to work on-site at big pharma client. Decent salary until you divide it by the number of hours you are working. Decent vacation benefit, but difficult to use because of work load.

Cons

Poor leadership, Peter Principle in action. just because you can manage tasks does not mean you can manage staff and a large account. Hire people young and cheap, then work them until they burn out. No respect for staff and their personal time. Workload requires at least 50+ hours per week. Management by exception (designed to catch you doing things wrong). Not enough staff to handle the client work load.

Pros

Great experience in a broad range of competencies. You will strengthen your SQL skills, that much I can guarantee.

Cons

Long days, treated very poorly. The huge workload is expected to be performed by a minimal number of people while the accounts try to maintain their margins. The client is always right - no matter what the right thing to do is. You will receive no backup from upper management, at all. Your immediate manager has a lot less power/authority than you would thing. The account manager decides everything - and, they aren't technically saavy.
