      Made some great friendships while I was there

      Their stated values are to enable every employee to be able to say "I'm safe, I belong, I matter". For myself and many women on the SE team this could not be further from the truth. I'm sorry to say that my experience at Equinix was fraught with harassment, retaliation, and lack of equal opportunities for advancement. As another reviewer put it, it's the quintessential old boys club culture that is thankfully becoming more and more obsolete in the industry. You can do better.

      Pros

      Pro's: opportunity to make VERY good money. No structure, undefined goals and objectives, weak leadership which make it easy to pave your own path. If you're strong in sales and have your own style, you will not be told or shown otherwise. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and don't need guidance, direction or training and thrive in a wild wild west mentality then you'll enjoy your career here. Rapidly growing company which create lots of room for movement. Strong name to have on your resume.

      Cons

      Culture is thick with sexism and misogyny. Leadership lacks integrity, vision and skill. Good-ole-boys are promoted regardless of skill set. If you don't have the Frat boy mentality or don't want to conform, you will NOT fit in here and will not be promoted.

      Highly political and dysfunctional marketing organization. Terrible management.

      Pros

      Competitive compensation packages, bonuses and stock options. Enjoyed facilities and working with some talented people.

      Cons

      Lack of accountability and leadership, particularly in the marketing organization. Infighting, back-stabbing, dysfunction, inflated titles, arrogance and politics flourish here and are the worst I've seen. It's all about "protecting your turf", power, and image at any costs. Implementing new ideas to actually help Sales and improve processes in a positive, effective and measurable way aren't welcome (unless someone else in a political power position gets the credit). If you are a robot or just a "yes' person who likes to take orders, you'll do fine here. As a result, many of the top talent has left. No amount of compensation is worth one's sanity.
