Pros

Market Leader in most Geos

Cons

Magic of Equinix and start-up culture are empty promises. Lots of people talk about it but unfortunately many don't walk the talk particularly in middle management. Hiring process was painfully long - 10 interviews over 4 months. On two occasions the interviewer did not show up and they had to be a re-schedule. Emails to colleagues are often not replied to. Doesn't reflect well on the company and its culture.

Thanks for your feedback and sharing your thoughts with us. We are sorry our culture didn’t resonate with you, especially as our company’s culture is something that we take great pride in at Equinix. Our company values have been weaved into the very fabric of how we go about interviewing, hiring, promoting, and rewarding talent. We are very disappointed to hear about your interview experience, as that is not what we strive for here at Equinix. While we recognize there is little we can do to make this right with you at the moment, we appreciate your feedback as an opportunity to improve our candidate experience and ensure future candidates receive a better experience. Best wishes in your future pursuits!

Pros

Global company, best of breed data centres, market leader, strong share price performance. Growing in leaps and bounds.

Cons

Narrow minded view what is best practice in provisioning, committee style decision making process eg your manager approves something and they will need approval from their manager. No real career progression if you are in senior sales roles

Thank you for your feedback. Though we are not certain what you mean by provisioning, we certainly pride ourselves on using best practices at Equinix, and have never missed an installation deadline. To boot, the ability of the team to meet and accelerate aggressive deadlines is impressive and an additional point of pride for the organization. As for committee-style approvals, it is a journey to empowerment for our managers. We first make sure they understand and are well-versed in best practices when they join the organization, and then empower them to make decisions for themselves. We hear you on career progression, and just want to make sure you are aware that Organization Architecture is currently being developed to make career paths more transparent for the sales team. In this last year, there have been about eight internal promotions within the sales team.

Pros

The wage are market competitive

Cons

Don't respect work/life balance. Too much politics. Management is weak in Operations. Advancement opportunities are very limited and hard work will not help you. Advancement seems based on who you know and cosy up to rather than good skills. Favortism exists.

Thanks for your review and willingness to share some feedback with us. One of the challenges of owning and operating a 24-7 environment that continues to provide 99.9999% uptime to our customers is balancing schedules and workloads. If you are unable to perform the responsibilities of your current shift, please contact your supervisor or Human Resources Business Partner to discuss any issues with your schedule. When seeking advancement opportunities, we hope you will take advantage of Career Pathways, a program that went live in Operations about a year ago and helps employees navigate advancement opportunities, including the skills needed to advance in their roles. If you have not already done so, you are encouraged to discuss this with your manager during Quarterly Conversations.
