Pros

Location and pay is good . Very challenging fast paced environment multinational company with potential to develop. Reputable company work is closer to home and convenient

Cons

Interesting changing work fast pace so is challenging work , and work is changing. Will need varied role to gain more experience .

Pros

Financially healthy company (for now). Good place for Sales Reps. Above average work-environment quality in the teams and among peers. Lots of responsibility. No strong hierarchical barriers.

Cons

Employees in general seems to be constantly overloaded with work: the resources are not used efficiently nor effectively. And salaries are flat. Few career opportunities if you are not in -at least- a regional HD. Different scenario otherwise. Almost impossible for entry level employees to work their way up nowadays. Few really good managers, general lack of guts and above all lack of empathy towards their own teams. Mediocrity is accepted, at the expense of real Merit. Politics plays a key role.

We are sorry to hear you are less than satisfied with internal career opportunities, as the ongoing development of our employees is both something we take very seriously at Equinix, and the cornerstone of our Grow, Perform, Succeed (GPS) approach to performance and growth. We are currently working on giving employees more visibility into available career experiences and supporting them in taking charge of their career development. We have recently invested in career development tools, implemented Career Pathways for some functions, and are continuing to roll it out across other functional areas at Equinix. Our Career Pathways is aimed at giving employees visibility into different career perspectives and can be used when discussing opportunities for employee development with your manager during Quarterly Conversations. We encourage all employees to visit the Career Pathways page on the HUB to gather insight into the scope of this project, the available framework, and the planning for the further implementation.

Pros

-Strong Company Culture: There's a difference between saying your company prides itself on a strong culture and actually living up to the initiative. Managers have an open door policy, communications are always delivered with transparency, and your input is never disregarded. -"Great people produce great work": employees genuinely enjoy what they're doing and that's made clear the second you step into the office. The effort put forth is always backed by passion. -Fast pace environment: this is often seen as a "con" however success isn't reached without momentum. Equinix serves and provides for an industry that is growing at a rapid pace, those on the back end need to keep up. -Always looking to improve their strategy: If there are gaps in either internal or external communications the company doesn't sweep it under the rug. Different organizations are constantly developing strategies to troubleshoot and identify the problem to improve moving forward. In addition, the company does not have strong hierarchical barriers. It doesn't matter if you're a VP or an associate, the communication you have with those within the company are always respected. Executives are humble and care about their employees.

Cons

So far I have not identified any cons in my experience as both a contractor and now full-time employee.
