Pros

a good place to start a career in sales. selling something that is healthy, interesting, + fun! an array of different backgrounds across membership advisors, loved the diversity. most other advisors I trained/worked with were very motivated, well-spoken, and supportive. complimentary membership, super beautiful + clean work environment. personally worked with some of the best managers I've experienced but this will of course depend on your location not sure what it's like in other cities, but I felt being part of Equinox in NYC is so exciting and well-respected. you're part of the most flourishing fitness community in the world! generous retail discount pretty solid sales training in the beginning. everyone was very supportive. not the most financially stable especially in NYC, but overall it's a pretty good first salary job for a new graduate. long hours but great balance of sitting and standing/walking

Cons

closeout days are long. if you don't truly love fitness/Equinox and talking to people it might be hard to feel work/life balance and will definitely burn out quickly have to work one weekend day schedule is flexible but that also means lack of consistency in your schedule every week your ability to move up in the company really depends on who your manager is emails and phone calls can feel repetitive if you're not being super creative 24/7 high turnover and while everyone was supportive during training, no one maintained relationships outside of their club afterwards working holidays..no one should work on Christmas

Pros

When I first read the reviews here I thought people exaggerated, but no, this is a really bad company to work for. No work/life balance AT ALL!

Cons

You are expected to be connected 24/7, always answering emails (meaning even when you are not on the clock), hanging out at the club all day to make "connections" (again, off the clock) and comply with a "training protocol" created only to sell training packages at an outrageous rate to which you only receive a very small amount. It's a sales job not a Personal Trainer job. If that wasn't enough, the word "team" is used a lot by the company despite the fact that there isn't really a "team". They see it as every personal trainer runs their own business which generates a ridiculous competition between trainers creating an awful work environment, specially for new trainers - that's one of the reasons for the high turnover rate.

Pros

None. Did not like a single thing about working there. It was not pleasant. I'm not bitter or anything, it just was not a good experience. Would not go back.

Cons

Micro Management is unbearable at this place. They are on you non stop so they can make their money, not caring at all about the clients' needs.
