Pros

Potential to make good money if you’re in a good Club location, caring team and have the pure luck of appropriate goals. There are some really great employees in the clubs who really care!

Cons

Corporate is completely disconnected with issues in club and does not value their employees that make the company successful! Absolutely no personal life membership advisors were made to work on all day on Labor Day when the club closed at noon. Over 12 hour workdays for close out. Lunch used to be provided and now there isn’t enough to order fast food for one meal of the day! Lack of organization and consistency from club management that is being enforced by corporate. The company is hemorrhaging money, not updating existing clubs, but continues to open new locations. Equinox has Fallen behind as industry leaders. It’s now known that Equinox is no longer a people company placing value on their employees, but a “systems company”. Corporate makes it known that you are replaceable regardless of how long you’ve worked there or years of success! No regard to individual people/ club situations. Goals are unrealistic based off of clubs prior years performance with an expectation to increase sales over 15% year after year even when the environment has changed drastically.

Pros

In-house education, oftentimes managers are decent. High status clientele, nice gym to workout at.

Cons

It’s a Ponzi scheme. You are on your own after the first few months to grab clients off the floor, and they bring new trainers in as soon as your pay begins to increase which inevitably drops your pay back down. You are compensated based on how many sessions you do, and when you start to do more they bring in more trainers which creates more competition. They don’t care about employees at all, especially when a new club opens that isn’t yours. Very corporate; prepare to feel like a statistic. You will be left behind.
