Pros

You can take a shower during your shift--if you find the time.

Cons

Employees, especially personal trainers get "sold" on the Equinox brand just as much as the members. You are told lies about how many hours are needed to work (one person gets one answer and another gets another). The pay is terrible for all the long hours. You end up making about $6 per hour. Lots of rules that are ridiculous. Low morale.

Pros

Fun environment, free gym membership, met great people, great for networking

Cons

Equinox corporate does NOT care about their employees. They provide a world class member experience, but could not give a crap about the employees. There's an open door and constant turnover, but they still make money so they don't care. They could make more and retain top employees, but the current model aligns with the fitness industry. Low quality employees slip through the cracks to management, high quality employees with dignity do not last long. Management is lazy, not inspiring, and they play favorites. Some managers even work out all day and do not help their teams. You work tons of hours, holidays, weekends, etc., crappy benefits, no time off...absolutely do not value the employees It's a shame because great people would stay if they were a quality company to work for.

Pros

I enjoyed working here for the first couple of months, free membership was probably the best perk out of the whole deal.

Cons

You know that Massage Therapist you see in the front lobby providing chair demo's for tons of ungrateful people, that want more more and free free. That Board Certified professional is making 8 Dollars and hour doing that. LESS than minimum wage. The ONLY way you can survive as an equniox employee is if you have a great backup plan, you are part of management or you are a trust fund baby that only needs a job to kill time. Equinox does advertise, So the only way you know that they actually have a spa is if you walk past the sign that says "Spa". When monthly numbers are not reached, Therapists are scolded like 3 year olds that made a no-no in their pants. Kind of like it is expected we are supposed to pull magical clientele out of our tushy .
