Pros
One of the only reasons why I chose to stay was the fact that the advisor I worked under spent time each week teaching his interns about the fundamentals of finance, wealth management and investing through different vehicles. It was a satisfactory wage replacement for an unpaid internship based around list-building.
Cons
There isn't much growth opportunity unless you are interested in being a producer at this company. And although the competitive nature of the business does drive performance, it also causes inter-office drama occasionally.
