Thank you for taking the time to share your past experience with Equity. We would like to note that Equity Residential has not owned properties in Ohio for 10 years, and also that your statement about not offering leasing commissions is inaccurate. While individual commission amounts have varied by market, tier, and lease term (and our overall commission structure has changed over the years in response to market dynamics), all Leasing Consultants, including Floating Leasing Consultants, are eligible for new and renewal lease commissions.

As a General Service Director, you have a very challenging job; the fact that you love it so much tells us that you have undoubtedly taken advantage of those training resources you mentioned, aligned yourself with great mentors, seen your own career grow, and paid it forward by developing and promoting others. You make a great point about the importance of recognition. We love to acknowledge and celebrate successes by posting quarterly award winners on Ernie, announcing achievements at regional meetings, and capping off the year with a big awards ceremony - but we are always open to suggestions on how to make day-to-day recognition more prominent. You will be pleased to know that we created a committee with this very mission within our corporate communications department this year.
