      How a company should feel

      Pros

      I have worked for Equity for almost 7 years. In that time I have grown from a green horn (new to the industry) into a Service Manager with all the knowledge that I need to do my job correctly. Equity truly cares about their employees and listens to our ideas.

      Cons

      There really is nothing that I do not like about my job or my company. It really is how a company should feel.

      Bad experience

      Pros

      Good and bad, you may make some friends along the way. The pay is pretty good. If your boss likes you, you can go far in the comapany.

      Cons

      Management pushes their job duties off on you. The stress level is intense, there is no work life balance. Advancement is hard if you are not in the "inner circle". HR doesn't care about you like they say they do. The higher ups don't really know what goes on behind closed doors and they don't care. When numbers look good, it goes without saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it". And metrics are all they care about. Teamwork is a thing of the past. But one can only understand if they try it themselves.

      We’re sorry that you didn’t have a good experience with Equity Residential. We are dedicated to the training and development of our employees and being such a large company requires that we are creative in our approach. We have a mix of both in-room and online training which allows employees to get relevant training when they need it. However, we respectfully disagree that HR and management does not care for our employees.
