Thanks for the wonderful review. We love when our teammates recognize and appreciate all of Equity's great benefits. While it is true that pay and raises at Equity are based on the cost of labor in each market, we strive to be competitive and reward top performers appropriately.

Pros

The people that you will work with, with the exception of most upper management, are fantastic and great to get to know.

Cons

There is a major disconnect between the Management team and their staff. Most managers act like they are way above their staff members, and feel the need to prove it in as many ways as possible. Sales teams have no say in sales related decisions, and the "life work balance" that they talk about means that you should only have a life if it balances with how they want you to work. The company is very stingy with earned vacation time, and requires 30 days notice to take days off, even if it is an unexpected day. Yearly raises amount to pennies on the hour. Scheduling is ridiculous, expect to work on Christmas Eve, July 4th Weekend, and every other major holiday weekend that NO ONE is looking at apartments. Senior agents who have worked there forever will randomly have their schedules changed to have to work on weekends, and will be moved around without any option or warning. Instead of having meetings to fix deep internal flaws, expect to have full day long "sales meetings" where you learn how to respond to an email or answer a phone call. Instead of hiring people who understand the common sense of email/phone etiquette, the company would rather pay near minimum wages to people who do not care at all about putting in the effort. Look at the insane rate of turnover currently happening at the company with top people who have been there for years, everyone wants to get out. Avoid at all costs.

While we’re pleased to see that you enjoyed working with your teammates, we are sorry that you feel that your managers were unresponsive to employees’ needs. Working on weekends and on some holidays is typical of any business, including Equity, who strives to provide its residents with the highest quality of customer service and care. Thank you for your feedback.
