Pros

Overall this company has been really good to me. I came in as part of a buyout and it has been a great experience. Equity has fair pay, great benefits, and a overall good culture.

Cons

I would not say it's so much of a con, but for many people it's difficult to adjust to. At Equity we work really hard and run on the lean side. So at times it can be stressful with the work load, but this culture of work hard is I believe fairly rewarded.

We believe in efficiency, resourcefulness, and hard work - and we agree with you that employees who successfully embody those traits will be the most likely to rise to the top from their efforts. Thank you also for your feedback on our compensation package. We restructured bonus targets for many positions last year, and raised the 401(K) match to 4% a couple of years ago. Cons

Unfortunate, EQR did not commit to transfer opportunites for seasoned, commited, employees, during the Sept. 2008 National Economic Upheaval.

That is music to our ears! Based on your other comments, it seems that you worked at a property we sold and in a submarket where we deemphasized our presence. We are committed to transferring talented employees who are affected by property sales to other open positions in other portfolios. Employees who are most flexible regarding relocation have the most opportunity to remain at Equity. We understand that not all employees will be able to consider relocating in order to remain with the company after a sale, but we are committed to retaining our best employees when possible.
