Pros
The employees care for one another and their community, and work hard. Most managers/supervisors are good to work with and will jump in and get their hands dirty to get the job done. That is about it for the positive.
Cons
Most of the time negative things are going to be said by employees that are not doing well. I have been considered a top performer and have not had poor reviews so I feel that is important to say before commenting on the cons. If my manager/supervisor knew this was me, they would be surprised. People are starting to leave in droves, which is a major red flag. I wish I was one of them and will start looking to join them. The pay is not in line with what the responsibilities/expectations. They pay well under the going market rate and/or will give a job title that does not fully describe the expectations. When expectations are met/exceeded then the target that was supposed to have been hit is changed. They try to say that they do nice things for the employees but it feels forced and fake; as if we better do it since we heard that other companies do it. This is a family owned company; but they are never there and when they are, you wish they weren't because you have to walk on eggshells. When there, they will sneak into their office and will not mingle with the "little people" or show genuine appreciation for their work. Certainly not approachable. I think it is just about how to make more money. I do understand the point of a business is to make money but they are taking home millions. You would think that they would walk around and share some gratitude for everything that the employees do and actually mean it. Also the sick/absence time is minimal, so it makes it very difficult. Get sick and then your kids get sick at some other time, as is bound to happen, you are in danger of losing your job because you missed over 3 days in the year. If you are interviewing here, be sure to ask about the average tenure of the employee base, it is not high. People move on to better things.
