Pros

Benefits Job security Pay is pretty good Mostly a family-type atmosphere Leadership is pretty open minded

Cons

Not too much negative except it's hard to progress your career unless you know someone. There's a lot of work on most peoples' plate and it's often too much to manage.

Good company overall

Pros

Large company with good benefits including a pension. There is room for advancement especially if you are geographically mobile. However, your mileage will vary with this company, depending on local management and role you are in. Field claims staff are provided with a company car.

Cons

Field claims staff typically have a consistently large workload. This can negatively impact ability to deliver customer service. Adjuster frustration and burn out can result. Work/Life balance is a potential issue here. Field claim adjuster position is salary. It is possible you will have to work evenings and weekends, not just for claim spikes, but just due to volume of daily claims.
