Pros

Erie Insurance is a very good company. As a far as local businesses at a larger scale goes there is no better place to work. It is clean, has a nice cafeteria, and is quite safe. Bonuses are fair and regular, people are friendly, there are a good amount of company celebrations, and its 90 year history "The ERIE" has never made lay-offs for financial reasons. They also treat their policyholders very well. Rather than overloading customers with extraneous commercials, ERIE instead puts that marketing money into taking better care of its policyholders.

Cons

The company struggles in going to the next level culturally. It in many ways fails to challenge or engage lower-level employees, which can often result in apathy and complacency.

Not a bad place to work

Pros

Great people to work with. Benefits packages are nice, plus lots of other little perks. Bonus at the end of the year is decent.

Cons

There are some people in management positions who were promoted to the position when it was something completely different. They've kept their title, however they have no business doing the job they do now. They are responsible for making company decisions and they don't have the skills/knowledge to do so. It can be very frustrating because said managers won't listen to to people who do know.
