Pros

Being able to work ethically in the generally nonethical insurance business. Erie is the good guy among the sharks . There is no back room meetings to try to rape the accident victims to save a buck. Still taught to find for the policyholder in grey areas and not the company. I can sleep at night knowing I am encouraged to be as fair as possible. The main reason I've made my career here 100%.

Cons

It's sink or swim. Training lacks so you better be self motivated. You have to commit murder on the job or very close to get fired. That is a pro to some but not those who work hard and take pride. When raises come out and I get 5% and a freeloader I carried all year gets 3% that isn't motivational to the good workers.

Great Benefits and Opportunities

Pros

Company culture is fantastic and almost everyone you'll come in contact with is passionate about their work and very kind. The amenities and benefits are great, especially the tuition reimbursement program for employees enrolled in school. One of the few companies around that offers a Pension still. ERIE cares about their employees' development and invests resources to help you meet your career goals.

Cons

Upper management in some departments are sub-par. Wage needs to be reevaluated for certain positions.

Decent company with room to grow

Pros

Met a lot of great people. Learned a lot about the industry and technology. Decent benefits that are on par with most major companies.

Cons

The pay is pretty low compared to other companies in the field. Especially considering how much growth there is in the company. Upper management seems out of touch with the rest of the company. The company tries to push it's core values which may or may not be a con for you if you agree with them or not.
