Pros

The insurance benefits are okay, but it seems each year, the coverage and network shrinks while the cost increases. Some of my co-workers are great, others not so much.

Cons

Every day is stressful and a challenge. My department is GROSSLY understaffed. As people leave, the work is simply put on the backs of the employees still there with no increase in pay. The division of work is not balanced in my department. I am doing the work that four people used to perform (I wish I could say I'm exaggerating...I'm not), while others in my department can slack off and take three lunches and multiple other breaks throughout the day. Most days, my lunch is eaten at my desk while I'm working, and I'm lucky to get a couple of bathroom breaks. Management is clueless and out of touch with the peons breaking their backs doing the actual work. All they care about is the bottom line.

Pros

Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Level IV NICU, Children's Hospital, Outpatient Clinics A lot of variety to choose from for the region

Cons

Some jobs are more difficult to get than others, depends on who you know. Management is poor, very hands off. Read The Chattanoogan if you want a fair assessment of how management and executives treat employees.

Pros

I have worked at Erlanger for 5 years. I have worked with AMAZING physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff at Erlanger that make coming to work rewarding despite crappy pay/benefits. I think with current CEO good changes are happening just veeeeeery slowly.

Cons

Pay is not competitive and there are abundant incompetent people in positions of power. The progress that could be made is killed by the incompetent people dropping the ball.
