      Small Town Big Business...do they mix

      Pros

      Great team atmosphere on the individual floors. Great pay for the area and flexible work schedules.

      Cons

      Out of touch management, headquarters is in Duluth and is not employee friendly or convenient if you have issues with benefits. Insurance is horrible. Very little incentive to continue education to higher level.

      Pros

      The upper leadership of the organization is fantastic and very caring.

      Cons

      Unforunately, the middle management of the organization is horrible to work for with politics and back-biting going on constantly. Priorities are never straight and everything is a priority. I would stay far away especially if you work in what's called a "shared service" like HR, IS, Finance or Marketing. Horrible managers who care nothing about their employees and don't tolerate new ideas.

      Pros

      This company does have decent benefits and for the position that I worked in I was a member of the union which meant I got yearly pay raises. There was room for advancement to a certain extent and each time I transferred I was offered more money.

      Cons

      Like any company there are cliques. The con of working for a union, or one of them, is that everything goes by seniority so if someone worked there longer they would get first choice for transfers and time off.
