Pretentious + Unappreciative Leadership

Pros

Staff are experienced, skilled and passionate. Organization places high value on innovation and growth. Large health center network.

Cons

CEO is judgmental and difficult to work with often assuming the worst in staff. Leaders are inappropriate and rude to each other. Staff work in a culture of constant fear and intimidation. Leaders cultivate a "cut throat" environment and are unforgiving and irrationally judging of staff and external partners. Essential Access is a wolf in sheep's clothing; revenue hungry with little emphasis on staff satisfaction or appreciation. If you value working in a positive, people-friendly, collaborative environment this is not the place for you.

Pros

The Staff at CFHC are loyal to the organization's mission to provide reproductive heath care for women and providing family planning and STD prevention..

Cons

Many layoff of some very important and key individuals. What was once a great place to work has now become a place with an ever growing and expanding high priced micro-managing leaders with no direction or vision and less working staff to support the mission. My sympathies go towards the staff still giving their blood and sweat towards doing the best job they can while management turns their nose to the sky.

Pros

I follow what other staff have posted. I work with a great group of people who do a good job and support the mission of the organization to provide quality sexual and reproductive health. The different departments bring in a ton of money and there is a lot offered through research, training, policy, family planning and STD prevention. Staff are dedicated and loyal - but there need to be an assessment of the organization.

Cons

Over the past 4 years, there has be tremendous amount of staff turnover, fires, lay offs. We once had 100 staff and it now been cut in half. This has created a ton of chaos and fear. Workloads continue to increase and no increases in pay. The leadership make very uninformed and inconsistent decisions that affect the workplace. Many inside and outside partnerships have been damaged. Staff are disrespected, not asked to give input and otherwise are made afraid to say anything. They are bullied by CEO and leadership. The last CEO engaged board of directors and they were active in the organization where this board don't seem to do or hear anything about the staff. Does the board know how much turnover there has been? I am fearful of writing this review because I could be targeted but the atmosphere at this organization is toxic. I write hoping it will bring about change. Is there a way to assess the organization and do a staff evaluation? With staff recommendations we could make this a better place to work.
