Pros

The Ethos team is one of the most dedicated, passionate group of employees I've ever worked with in my career. The management team is open to hearing from employees and thoughtful in their approach to running the business. The culture centers on continuous learning and development, taking excellent care of our clients and their pets and being a leader in the veterinary industry. The work we do is truly a labor of love for our team. I've referred several employees!

Cons

Ethos is a newly formed company (3 years or so) and there are growing pains like with any young company. It takes time to coordinate all the different aspects of a company and to get everyone on the same page but we are moving in the right direction.

They don't care about employees

Pros

You can learn a lot.

Cons

Management does not care about employees. They care about money and making themselves feel important. I was told my concern for patient care and clients was clouding my judgment.

Pros

Striving to be the best Growth opportunities Passion for animal care VSH strives to practice the BEST medicine possible and that really shows in all areas of the organization. Recently though, they've begin to work towards being the BEST in all areas from employee happiness to science to customer satisfaction and of course medicine. I have worked at VSH for over 5 years primarily as a client service team member but have advanced greatly. There is a lot of room for career growth within this organization. Everyone shares a passion for animal care. I have seen individuals at every level of the organization from administration, to doctors, to technicians, to client care, emotionally affected by both the heart breaking and celebratory events animals go through within these walls. Everyone feels greatly for their patients and this is reflected in how decisions are made from the top down. Patient care and the client come first.

Cons

Emotional Industry Busy Practice I would recommend that anyone considering working at VSH long term, keep in mind the emotional side of the specialty industry. All of our patients are coming to us with chronic or sometimes life-threatening issues. This can take a toll on the parents that love them and the employees that empathize with the patient and client. I wouldn't say this is a con per say as it also provides an amazing opportunity to give and find meaning in your career. But, it is something to keep in mind. It's important to take care of yourself so you can take care of others. VSH is a high volume practice. You will ALWAYS be busy. Some people strive in this type of atmosphere and some do not. It's important to know that you like working in a practice where you're always busy.
